For best results we recommend waiting at least 2 weeks after shaving and 4 weeks after waxing before your appointment. Your hair needs to be about the size of a grain of rice for the smoothest results possible.
The discomfort is different for every client but it really isn't as bad as you think it'll be. The service is relatively quick (for example on average an underarm wax takes 4 minutes and a Brazilian wax takes 12 minutes) and the discomfort is a very quick sting. It's a little uncomfy, waxing removes your hair by the root after all. But I promise the smooth long-lasting results of waxing are worth the short lived discomfort!
For body and bikini waxing I recommend coming every 4-6 weeks for the smoothest, most comfortable results. For face and brow waxing I recommend coming every 2-4 weeks.
Yes to both!
Getting your period does not mean you have to cancel or reschedule your wax appointment. I wax someone on their period almost everyday. It doesn't bother me at all, I promise! Use a tampon prior to your appointment and nothing about the service changes :) If you need a tampon before your service the restroom is always stocked with tampons and wipes.
If you are pregnant you can start waxing or continue waxing. I have waxed dozens of clients and continued waxing during my own pregnancy. If you have any questions about waxing during pregnancy please consult your doctor.
For 24 hours after your wax it is important to keep the area clean and dry. We want to avoid any excess sweat or oil from getting into your pores. Avoid the following for 24 hours after your service: exercise, swimming, bath tubs/hot tubs, touching the area with dirty hands, intercourse (for bikini/Brazilian waxing). For Brow Tint and Lamination services avoid exercise, swimming and washing your brows for 24 hours to allow the products to set.
Three days after your wax start exfoliating 3x a week and moisturizing daily. If you have questions about what to use I can recommend something for your skin type at your next appointment!
